Our History

In 1978, the Logan Conveyor Company of Louisville, KY. made the decision to open an office in the South – Central Region of the US by creating a position for a manufacturers representative to develop a market for their entire product-line and services …. that prompted the consideration of Mike and Dori Sanders. Shortly after the decision was made, the Sanders began the relocation from New Castle, KY. to Texas; and within weeks, the company, Sanders and Sons Material Handling, Inc. was formed.

It was April of 1978 when Sanders and Sons Material Handling actually entered the material handling business covering Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and New Mexico for the Logan Co. A home office was created in Lucas, Texas …. just across the street from “J.R.” (the TV villan) and the now famous and historic South Fork Ranch.

From that humble beginning, Sanders and Sons acquired a second product-line, that of the Portec, Flomaster Division. Within months, a third line, the Interroll Product Group was added. Sanders and Sons was officially a Professional Manufacturers Representative. In addition to the lines represented, the firm was selling components, replacement and spare parts for several other conveyor equipment manufacturers. Sanders and Sons was on the grow and had developed a reputation as “a firm with integrity”.

Within a couple of years, Sanders and Sons had outgrown the home office, had hired Mike Weedman, an Application Sales Engineer for the firm, which forced another move into a downtown office in Plano, Texas. Within just two (2) years and evidenced by the result of Weedman’s efforts, Sanders and Sons Material Handling had grown and was recognized throughout the four (4) state territory. It was then that Devon Sanders joined the firm as an Applications Sales Engineer to further expand, improve customer relations and quotation / proposal response time, and to maintain the quality of service that the firm had become so well known for. Solidly operational as Professional Manufacturers Representatives and Master Distributors, Sanders and Sons relocated a final time to the Forrester Way complex in Plano, Texas.

Sanders and Sons continued its growth and success; however, in 1989 Logan Co. had been sold and the new owners dissolved the network of Professional Manufacturers Rep’s covering the US. Furthermore, Interroll replaced Sanders and Sons Material Handling with a factory appointed salesman, a direct employee. Therefore, with two major lines dissolved and other changes forthcoming, Sanders and Sons Material Handling was sold. The employees each headed in different directions; but, each moved on to individual success in sales positions with other reputable firms.

Within approximately five (5) years or so, the Sanders family elected to re-open and/or to re-establish their own business and Sanders Equipment was created. Initially located in East Texas to service old Sanders and Sons accounts; but then, back into the Dallas / Ft. Worth Metroplex. Sanders Equipment started to regain momentum, past customers and reputation alone guided growth to what it is today. For income, tax purposes and re-entry into the ranks of Professional Manufacturers Representation, the Sanders Equipment name was changed and became Sanders Equipment LLC.

Once again recognized as Professional Manufacturers Rep’s and/or as an honest and reliable regional Master Distributor with integrity, Sanders Equipment LLC has specialized and been widely known for providing those “hard to find” replacement rollers, bearings, and other floor and/or floor to mezzanine conveyor component parts for Logan Co. Conveyors, Mathews Conveyors, OmniMetalcraft and Roach Conveyors and several other manufacturers without local representation.

Until recently having added Richards-Wilcox to the fine quality products REPresented, the Sanders Sales Engineers offered and became known for O/H (overhead) material handling solutions from Product Handling Inc. Bearings / ball transfers from Frantz Bearing and United Sales Distributors; floor and/or floor to mezzanine systems / solutions are still provided from Roach and Logan Co. Conveyor systems …. while gravity flow conveyor storage systems are manufactured by Mallard. And Transnorm System Inc., where the straight conveying section ends, the TSI power belted curves utilizing the Transnorm worldwide patented belt guidance system, allowing the highest speeds with the quietest operation begins.
